Ricardo is delighted to welcome Carolyn Salmon to our UK team as a Lead Assessor.
Carolyn joins us from RINA Consulting Ltd (formerly ERA) where she was most recently Technical Lead – Railway Safety, responsible for technical oversight of all safety engineering, consultancy and ISA projects in the rail sector.
A Chartered Engineer, Carolyn brings extensive knowledge of safety engineering practices within the rail sector, with previous responsibilities including assessing major programmes such as for the Traffic Management System being developed by Hitachi for initial application on Thameslink, and for the Victoria Line signalling upgrade project.
However, Carolyn’s career has also seen her take on responsibility for technical governance of all safety projects delivered by ERA across aerospace, maritime and the nuclear power sector, gaining valuable experience of best practice that she can bring to Ricardo Certification projects.
Carolyn will initially be working on the IPWW project, fulfilling the Lead AsBo role. However, she will also advise and support a number of other certifications currently in progress.
Carolyn says “I am thrilled to have joined a prestigious organisation which can provide me with the opportunity to get involved in some of the biggest, most challenging rail projects in the UK at this time. In the short time that I have been here I have been impressed with the professionalism and knowledge of the Ricardo consultants and am very much looking forward to working closely with many of you in the coming months”.
