The Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system at Masdar City consists of a fleet of 10 vehicles that connect the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology with the perimeter car park via an undercroft beneath the city. The vehicles, each capable of carrying four persons, are powered by lithium-iron-phosphate batteries (LiFePo4), which afford approximately 60kms per 1.5-hour charge and can be recharged at stations along the route. Though designed for speeds up to 40km/h, initial operations operate at 25km/h.
