Training is essential, since only certified mechanics are authorized to maintain the Dutch safety system(s). Additionally, well trained mechanics save on maintenance-costs and boost the availability of the trains. In the railways, many different train protection systems are being used to ensure safe operation in the event of human failure. These systems need to be maintained on a 6-month basis and, when a malfunction has been discovered, restored adequately.
- Training sessions are given in small groups and takes 2 days including examination. The training sessions are held on the clients location, however the training room of Ricardo Netherlands can be (under defined circumstances) used as fallback location.
- Ricardo believes in a practical driven approach and builds on four pillars: knowledge, insights, skills, and behaviour.
- Each program includes the module “fault finding” where the most occurring failures will by built in by the trainer. The main goal is to practise with the interface between train or loco and the ATB system.
- For each program the participants will receive a course folder that consists of handouts of the given presentations and reference work of the relevant ATB system. After completing the final exam the participants receive a certificate.
