The European Union Common Safety Method on Risk Evaluation and Assessment Regulations
As someone involved in the design or implementation of infrastructure change projects for the UK infrastructure manager, Network Rail, you will already be familiar with the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations.
You also need to have an understanding of how Network Rail is required to manage engineering safety. The European Union Common Safety Method (CSM) on Risk Evaluation and Assessment Regulations 352/2009 and 402/2013 now provide a legal obligation and mandatory framework for the evaluation and assessment of risk associated with engineering, operational and organisational changes to the railway.
This course will provide delegates with sufficient understanding of the CSM Regulations, the risk assessment framework and guidance on implementation to fulfil their obligations as someone contributing to, but not managing, the overall process. It will include a comparison with management of risks under the CDM Regulations, and advice on how to apply the two regulations together.
